Central Denmark Region and Aarhus Municipality participated in the International Conference on the Development of Old Age Programs in Shanghai.
Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau hosted in September an international conference on: The Development of Old Age Programs.
From Central Denmark Region Mr. Kaj Vestergaard Nielsen participated with a presentation of the project: Better Life – The Educational Community. From Aarhus Municipality Mr. Ivan Kjær Lauritsen joined with a presentation about the use of social capital among volunteers and senior citizens.
Finally, the region was represented by Mr. Peter Wellendorf Nielsen and Stine Lykke Nielsen from VIA University College.
One of the many conclusions from the conference has already let to a concrete project for VIA University College that is now looking for potential Chinese partners to join a project on education and training. VIA University College hopes to get in contact with persons responsible for the day care centres or schools/universities that manage the training and education of employees in the elderly sector in order to develop the project further.
