SSTC Delegation Visit to DK
During September 22-23, Central Denmark Region (CDR) received a delegation from Shanghai Science and Technology Commission (SSTC), trying to give some assistance on their exploration of food safety administration in Shanghai/China.
The delegation consisted of seven persons among who three were from SSTC, Vice Chairman Mr. Chen, Director of IT Department Ms. Miao and International Cooperation Officer Mr. Li. The other four were two representatives from different IT companies, Director of Medical Affair Division of Shanghai Hospital Development Center and Director of Science & Research Department in Shanghai Renji Hospital.
With the focus on food safety, CDR made an intensive program for the delegation, covering visits to both knowledge institute and company regarding food safety, hospital and also a meeting with Invest in Denmark regarding wind energy.
Focus on food safety
The most fruitful visit was to the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture located in Agro Food Park in Aarhus. Three representatives from the centre: Managing director Mr. Jan Mousing, International Advice Mr. Torben Huus-Bruun and Mr. Gunnar Hald Mikkelsen from Agrotech introduced the Danish expertise on food safety control, especially the importance of traceability. The information system for the farms was also shown to the delegation which immediately made the leader of the delegation Mr. Chen say: “We want a collaboration on building this system for Shanghai now! “Besides, he was also very interested in the structure and administration of the centre itself, saying that they want to learn from the centre on how to manage this kind of institute.
The delegation also visit Arla food and learned about how the big dairy company managed to keep their products pure and clean – said in one word; SAFE – which is the biggest concern Chinese people have now a days.
Health-IT – extending existing collaboration
Another important reason for the delegation visit was to explore more collaboration possibilities for an existed collaboration between Shanghai and CDR. The two partners are: Intelray Information Technologies. Co. Ltd in Shanghai and Alexandra Institute. The previous collaboration has focused on the user driven innovation method to improve Intelray’s electronic patient record.
Ms. Zhu Xuewen, who represented Intelray, presented the periodically results for the delegation and CDR representatives. At the meeting CDR also illustrated MidtNet project which exclusively promoted the collaboration between Shanghai and CDR.
In order to create the possibility to have a B2B collaboration with Intelray in which Alexandra Institute could still play a roll, CDR and Alexandra arranged some separate meetings for Ms. Zhu at different companies. One of the most interesting potential partners Intelray met was NABTO which features in device integration. Intelray is specialized in data integration and they found that what NABTO does is very much what they need. Right now Intelray is looking into the possibility to integrate NABTO’s specialty into their projects.
Good opportunities for future cooperation
CDR is very positive about this delegation visit. Though the following steps on the collaboration building the information system on farms need to be negotiated in detail, it seems a perfect match and we can look very much forward to the next year when representatives from the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture go to visit Shanghai.
